I am very happy to learn that the Environment & Forest
Department of Assam, is going to bring out a booklet named
“A Glimpse of National Parks & Sanctuaries in Assam” on the
occasion of Celebration of 52nd Wildlife Week, 2006, to be
celebrated during the 1st week of October, 2006.
I hope the booklet will properly highlight the wildlife
tourism potential of the State and attract large number of
tourists and wildlife lovers to the Protected Areas of
Assam. I am sure the information provided in the booklet
will inculcate sufficient interest to the younger generation
for protection of the beautiful animals and birds etc. and
help in conservation of their precious habitat.
Our State is rich in both faunal & floral diversity and the
inflow of both domestic and foreign tourist is most welcome,
who can enjoy the marvels of the bounty nature has to offer
in this part of the Country.
I wish successful publication of the booklet.

I am very happy to know that the Forest Department of Assam,
is going to publish a booklet named “A Glimpse of National
Parks & Sanctuaries in Assam” on the occasion of Celebration
of 52nd. Wildlife Week , 2006 in Assam, wherein all the
basic information relating to the Protected Areas of Assam
and pertinent to its public interface have been
incorporated.
I am sure that the information furnished will be very useful
to the Tourists and for this the Department has done an
excellent job. The booklet contains vital data on the
present status of the National Parks & Wildlife Sanctuaries
and the faunal diversity protected and conserved in the
State. The booklet also contains the basic information on
the visitor facilities available in the Protected Areas and
it is therefore hoped that it will elicit spontaneous
support from the wildlife lovers for the cause of protection
and conservation of our precious wildlife and their habitat.
I offer my best wishes for the successful publication of the
booklet.
